Raul Gonzalez, PhD is a licensed Clinical Psychologist with 8 years of specialized training in conducting neuropsychological assessments with adults who suffer from a variety of neurological and neuropsychiatric conditions. He has 12 years of experience conducting neuropsychological assessments, both in English and in Spanish. He is a native Spanish-speaker and expert in conducting neuropsychological assessments in Spanish, without the use of translators, using tests specifically designed for use with Spanish-speaking patients. He obtained his PhD from the San Diego State University and University of California San Diego Joint Doctoral Program in 2004 and his postdoctoral training at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He has been licensed as a Clinical Psychologist in the State of Illinois since 2006.
Dr Gonzalez’s has expertise in evaluation for numerous neurological and neuropsychiatric conditions, including: HIV, substance use disorders, dementia, cerebral vascular disorders, traumatic brain injury, ADHD, and other chronic medical conditions known to impact neurocognitive functioning (e.g., heart disease, diabetes, liver disease, etc.).
Dr Gonzalez conducts detailed clinical interviews and a comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation to help with neurodiagnosis and treatment planning. Integrative reports based on the evaluation can help identify a patient’s underlying neurological problems, their neurocognitive strengths and weaknesses, their likely impact on their everyday functioning, and treatment recommendations.
Dr Gonzalez also conducts Independent Medical Evaluations, including those for Workman’s Compensation and other forensic issues.
